Once a popular roller skating rink, the new headquarters and warehouse facility for Dobil Laboratories pays tribute to the building's storied past while creating a cutting-edge office space for its employees. Rink flooring, lighting, signage, and even support beams were recycled to add whimsy and history to the new offices, while a few of the rink's old arcade games offer employee's a creative and fun way to de-stress. Other features include a warehouse space large enough to accommodate the trucks themselves, high-tech office environments, and a DIRTT system of modular glass partitions.
A design-build project from the start, there was the additional challenge of creating temporary work spaces for employees in the future warehouse portion while construction was fast-tracked in the office side of the building. The project was completed on time through a collaborative team effort with the Owner and Architect to achieve the client's singular vision. The result is a vibrant, beautiful headquarters that was nominated for an AIA 2018 People's Choice Award.
